New COOP Systems Distributor in Japan

Kozo Keikaku Engineering Expands myCOOP™ Presence in Asia

Herndon, VA, October 6, 2009 - COOP Systems has announced today that Kozo Keikaku Engineering Inc. (KKE) has agreed to sell and support the myCOOP business continuity software package in Japan.

"We are very pleased to have KKE as a strategic partner in Japan," said Chris Alvord, CEO of COOP Systems.  "The disaster-prone Japanese market has no native business continuity software available for the large, distributed organizations that are COOP Systems' typical customers.

"The ability of myCOOP to support kanji, hiragana and katakana scripts for the full business continuity life cycle, combined with the ability of users to choose any world currency, date convention, or time zone, make our software a powerful solution for the Japanese market.

"With our considerable success in South Asia already, KKE is a key partner and building block for COOP Systems' overall strategy for the rest of Asia."

In light of Japan's cascading disasters, it is time for American based organizations to step up their Business Continuity Programs. Organizations need to push their Business Continuity initiatives onto their priority list and ensure that their plans are for recovering their business and not just to pass an audit. Organizations need to evaluate their Business Partners dependencies, Business Partners ability to continue to provide goods and services after a major business disruption, ensure media and communication plans are up to date, and how well their employees are prepared.
